Roberts Arizona Memorial Pearl HarborA "must-do" activity for anyone visiting Oahu, a visit to the Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor is one not to be forgotten. The memorial honors those whose lives were taken on December 7, 1941, when the Japanese attacked the U.S. Pacific Fleet. At the USS Arizona Memorial, you'll see footage of the Pearl Harbor attack and pay respects to the hundreds of American servicemen entombed in the battleship below. From there, you'll head to the rolling green hills of Punchbowl National Cemetery bursting with flowers. As somber as it is beautiful, this famous site is where those who died in the Pacific naval war are buried. To end on a lighter note, you'll get a narrated tour through downtown Honolulu with more historical sights. In addition to the impressive state buildings and churches, you'll see Iolani Palace, the one and only royal palace on American soil. Come face to face with a statue of the great Hawaiian warrior king who united the Hawaiian islands, King Kamehameha. Roberts Oahu Coastline / CliffsAfter a leisurely morning on your own, join us for a much-requested, breathtaking afternoon guided-tour of Oahu's eastern coastline including Diamond Head crater up to Oahu's lush rain forests and rocky cliffs, a picturesque journey sometimes referred to as "little circle island." Begin the circle in Waikiki, then off to Diamond Head, Kahala and Aina Haina. We continue the picturesque journey to Hanauma Bay, Hawaii's only Nature Preserve and Marine Life Conservation District, for a scenic lookout view of mother nature's perfect aquarium. Then, we'll stop at Halona "Blow Hole" Lookout, where the larger the ocean wave, the larger the spray as water shoots as high as 30 feet in the air through a lava tube. Our coastline journey continues along with Sandy Beach known for its challenging shore breaks and a favorite among experienced surfers, boogie boarder and locals. Before reaching Hawaiian homestead in Waimanalo for a rest stop, you'll see Makapu'u Lookout and catch a glimpse of Manana Island, once the home to colonies of rabbits; hence the nickname, "Rabbit Island." The final stop on this afternoon Delight of Coastlines and Cliff is up Nuuanu Pali Lookout. It is here that King Kamehameha and his warriors defeated Oahu armies by sending them over the steep forested cliffs claiming victory and uniting the Hawaiian Islands. The breathtaking sight coupled with this gruesome history of battle may sweep you off your feet if not the amazing winds that often pass through the Pali. |

Roberts Oahu Back RoadsBack Roads of Oahu is an interactive and educational experience that takes you off the beaten path. Take a unique journey through time which blends culture, history and agriculture beginning with native Hawaiian living to Hawaii's plantation days of yesteryear through today's farming culture. See Hawaii's largest producing watercress farm; then, sample a Portuguese donut, the malasada, before heading to the northern side of Oahu. Next, visit Helemano Plantation with a walk through its garden filled with grapefruits, oranges and coffee beans; then, sample fresh cut pineapples during a pineapple cutting demonstration before heading to Sunset Beach, a favorite local hangout when traveling off the beaten path. At Kahuku Farms, an exclusive destination for Roberts Hawaii, you'll learn a bit of local farming history and taste apple bananas and Kahuku gold papayas grown right there on the farm.
