Quiet hours after 9 p.m. No
unregistered guests in Suite after 10 p.m. without permission.
1. CHECK-IN TIME IS AFTER 3 P.M. HST AND CHECK OUT IS 10 A.M. HST. NO Early Check-ins or Check-Outs unless authorized.
2. Rustic Elegance/Jungle Living - Hale Pali Ku's beauty is that
it is located in a "local" community in the jungle, where living is different
than in Maui's tourist areas and on the mainland. Our showers are outdoors. We personally sleep with no screens, doors open, in mosquito
nets. Please be advised that at
certain times of year there may be more bugs in the jungle and one must adapt
by living the tropical lifestyle of most of the world's people.
3. This
is a NON SMOKING House.
4. QUIET HOURS are after 9 p.m. After 10 p.m., doors which open to the outside should be shut. Once inside, noise should be kept to a minimum.
5. We
will rent to vacationing students or singles under 21 years of
age if permission is granted in writing by an adult guardian or parent
6. PAYMENT
- An advance payment equal to 30% of the rental rate is required to
secure the accommodation. The
BALANCE OF RENT is due 90 days prior to arrival. AAdvance payment will be applied toward the total amount
due. Please make payments in the form of credit card, travelers check, bank
money orders, cashiers check or personal check payable to Hale Pali Ku. The
advance payment is not a damage deposit.
7. DAMAGE FEE. If you cause damage or remove items from the house, the repair/replacement value will be charged to your credit card. Please review the following.
a. You will be charged if damage is done to House or its contents, beyond normal wear and tear.
b. No charges are incurred due to contraband or collection of rents or services rendered during the stay.
c. All debris, rubbish and discards are placed in refuse containers outside, and soiled dishes are cleaned and placed in the cupboards. Laundry is left in hampers.
d. All keys are left in the lock box and House is left locked.
e. All charges accrued during the stay are paid prior to departure.
f. No linens are lost or damaged.
8. CANCELLATIONS - A sixty (60) day notice is required for cancellation. Cancellations that are made more than sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date will incur no penalty, except if deposits were made via credit card. All credit card cancellations are subject to a 5% Cancellation fee or $50 whichever is greater. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, that are made within 60 days of the arrival date, forfeit the full advance payment and reservation deposit. If dates are re-booked, then you will only incur a 10% processing fee. Cancellation or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent or deposit.
9. MONTHLY RESERVATION CANCELLATIONS - Monthly renters must cancel one hundred twenty (120) days prior to check-in. Monthly renters who make a change that results in a shortened stay must be made at least ninety (90) days prior to check-in.
10. MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY- The maximum number of guests per Suite is limited to four (4) persons. Only registered guests may reside in the suite after 9 p.m. No parties.
11. THIS PROPERTY REQUIRES A Five (5) NIGHT MINIMUM STAY; 7 nights during peak and holiday seasons. Longer minimum stays may be required during holiday periods. If a rental is taken for less than five days, the guest will be charged the five-night rate, unless stated otherwise.
12. INCLUSIVE FEES - Rates include a one-time linen towel setup. Amenity fees are included in the rental rate.
13. NO DAILY MAID SERVICE - While linens and bath towels are included in the House, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate, however is available at an additional rate. We suggest you bring your own beach towels. We do not permit towels or linens to be taken from the House.
14. RATE CHANGES - Rates subject to change without notice.
15. FALSIFIED RESERVATIONS - Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment, deposit and/or rental money, and the party will not be permitted to check in.
16. WRITTEN EXCEPTIONS - Any exceptions to the above mentioned policies must be approved in writing in advance.
17. Parking - Parking is limited to two (2) vehicles. Vehicles are to be parked in designated parking areas only. Parking on the road is not permitted. Any illegally parked cars are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees and is the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner.
18. Hot Tub - Please shower
before entering the hot tub to remove any oil and dirt and remember to close
the lid when you're done. If for
some reason your use causes us to drain and refill the tub, a fifty-dollar fee
will be accessed. No
children under
the age of 12 permitted in hot tubs at any time. When using the hot tub,
remember there is certain health risk associated with this facility. Use at your own risk. Our housekeepers drain, sanitize, refill and replenish chemicals in all tubs prior to your arrival; therefore, it may not be warm till later that evening. Hot tub covers are for insulation purposes and are not designed to support a person or persons. DO NOT STAND ON THE HOT TUB COVERS, they will break and you may be charged for replacement. Remember when not using the hot tub, leave cover on so hot tub will stay warm.
19. STORM
POLICY/ROAD CONDITIONS No refunds will be given for storms. Haiku is located in the jungle on the
North Shore of Maui. This lush
area receives more rainfall than the desert parts of the island.
20. The
House is privately owned; the owners are not responsible for any accidents,
injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The
Homeowner is not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables
of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are
expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises
or others whom they invite to use the premise.
21. The county of Maui requires that the owner reside in the house and have a room. While I reserve a room in the house, I have other accommodations on the property and will be happy to give you privacy if you like.
